if i do two layers of wax...and wash my truck atleast once a week...how long should the wax last before needing it again...

 

What kind of wax?

Look for these things: tight and quick water beading, noticably slick paint, and regardless of the above, 3 months from the previous wax. Your wax on the upper portions will go 1st, so keep these waxed every 90 days at least. Your wax will probably be able to withstand more than this, but why risk it???

very difficult to answer that question .. way too many variables ..

just a few of the questions would be:

- what kind of wax?
- how was the wax applied?
- what was your surface prep?
- What soap do you use when you wash it?
- what is your wash process?
- what kind of environment do you park in? Garage, Driveway, etc.
- how is the vehicle driven and used?
- what is the climate in your area?

as a general statement .. if you prepped properly, and properly applied a good quality carnuba or synthetic, and your weekly washing is done correctly .. and your environment isn't overly harsh .. you should be good for a couple of months .. but that could vary greatly either way ..

You are the man!! Mine has been washed 2 times in almost 3 years!:o

 

Could be worse..my dad's 98 Ranger with 180K has been waxed maybe twice in it's life. He also gives it an almost weekly washing using dish detergent.

 

Poor paint! You need to help him Zair!

 

I've tried to help him out. But, in his defense, his truck does still look very good. Maybe when he gets a new truck here in a few months I'll teach him how to take care of it.

 

I just bought two new jet ski's and have detailed them already. Meguiar's boat products kick *** too!
