Angry Fuel on paint finish.

Does anyone here know of a good product that takes off diesel fuel on truck finishes? The fuel station that I always use has great diesel fuel but, has mullet heads and boneheads that after they fill up, they let the fuel run down the side of my new black truck! I've tried some cleaners but, they really don't work very well. Here in New Jersey, it is illegal to pump your own fuel, do to the insurance companies. Anyway, if anyone knows of a product please let me know. Thanks. Bugman.

First, get the paint clean with a good paint cleaner or light polish. Then, start carring a small bottle of a product like Poorboy's Spray & Wipe, and some decent MF towels.

As soon as you see the stains (check after fill up), mist on some S & W, and wipe with the MF towel.

Also, stand next to these guys as they are putting the fuel in, and tell them to BE CAREFULL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before the kid begins pumping, ask him if he likes the taste of diesel fuel. Then hint around that you might be inclined to pick him up by the scruff of the neck and have him lick off any fuel drippings on your paint.

Then you can use something like Meguire's NXT spray detailer to clean up the kid's saliva and blood.

Just out of curiousity, what is the insurance companies's reasoning as to why you cant pump your own gas?

Sounds like there are too many Democrats in New Jersey!

They obviously think we, "The Great Unwashed", are too incompetent to even pump our own gas! Perhaps they need to create a new branch of government that's solely resonsible for the safe distribution of fuel (?).

From my reading that is exactly the reason for the law (although it is old).

They didn't beleive the general consumer was competent enough to pump their own gas.....now I suspect it is more of a socialist jobs program than concern for public safety.

I remember about 3 years ago my daughter and I traveled from New Hampshire to California to visit my parents. I had to stop in New Jersey to get gas. So, me not knowing about this stupid law they had, jumped out of my truck and began to take my gas cap off.

Well, this guy comes running, sprinting across the station telling me to STOP you can’t pump your own fuel. At first I was a little freaked out but since I had the nozzle in my hand and a lighter in my pocket I figured if he was just a freak that was about to attack me I would light him up…

As I put the nozzle into the tank he told me with a very serious look on his face that it was against the law for me to fuel my truck. I look at him with a WTF face and state to him WTF are you talking about?

Needless to say this discussion is taking place as I am fueling the truck. I told him there was no way in hell ANYBODY was going to fuel my truck but me. He continued to insist it was against the law and I was breaking the law. I told the little f*ck to go whine to his mommy or call the cops to arrest me.

He went to talk to his “boss” and as he went to go whine I finished and went to pay for my fuel. They told me I would have to wait there because the police would be coming because I broke the law. I told the lady if she continues to try and break my ***** I would leave with out paying and then they could really worry about something…

Needless to say she took my money in horror and I was on my way. I did watch the rear view mirror for a while thinking I might be the next guys on:

”Bad boys, bad boys, who you gonna call when the cop’s are after you…”

Thanks guys for reminding me what a sucky state I live in. Maybe what I should do is to duct tape a tarp below my fuel door to prevent the diesel fuel from running down the side of my truck or maybe I should make the bonehead lick it off the finish and drive to Pennsylvania to fill up myself.

OH Geesh!! I've heard it all now.

Sounds like some sort of "Tree Hugger" idea to me. Maybe they are afraid all us simpletons are going to spill a drop of gas on Mother Earth.

I think I'd just get a bottle of Poorboy's spray and wash and be sure to check for any leakage before I pulled out of the gas station. If so, give it a little shot of poorboy and wipe it up.
