Removing painted on pinstripe??

Is there any safe way to remove painted on pinstripes? I just got this Expy and I don't like the designs. Any ideas? Thanks

no way dude! ain't gonna happen. the pinstripes, if painted, are done on the color coat of the paint process, then the vehicle is clear coated like three or more times, thus locking in the pinstripes your stuck like chuck, although yopu could put a vinyl pin stripe over the painted ones. but that might look cheesy! sorry man!

This were done after the car was painted. The kind that are done by hand.

if you can feel it with your finger, i mean like feel a ridge, then yes, it was done after car was painted and clear coated, but still, if they are painted on, i do not know how you could remove them without damaging the clear coat. plus without sanding them out, then repainting, but that would be too drastic. i really don't know. best bet would be two routes, leave them on and get used to them, or take it to a body shop and see what they say, they are more the pro's then i am! sorry man!

Thanks. I guess I will have to live with it. I don't want to try to buff it out.

The best advice you'll get from anyone. Talking to someone at a local body shop doesn't cost any money at all!!

Have it wet sanded with a real fine sand paper and if you don't sand through the whole clear coat you can just put on some finishing compound and presto...good as new. If you don't wanna spend alot on $$$ take it to a local High School that has a body shop...if you dare
