Wax on Wax off

Only had the F-150 about a month now with several washes (Damn brake dust but that's a different thread)... I have yet to give it a good wax job, I know this is a pretty open ended question but what name brand wax do you guys use or would you recommend using.. I know i have seen one photo gallery with some pictures of there paint reflection after waxing, it gave the name of the wax, but i can't remember what wax it was or who's gallery.

Search the General Care forum. You'll find two answers. NXT & Zanio.

I managed a detail shop for many years and have used just about everything out there.

Easiest and most cost effective.... First use Maguires cleanerwax and then Meguires NXT.

Now that you guys have mentioned it I think that NXT is what was posted in the photo gallery i mentioned... i could not believe the shine on that truck

I would also clay it before you wax.... Their was a lot of buildup on my new truck, even after only owning it for a 1-1/2 months.. You figure its been in storage, then a car lot, then at your house... Believe me, it will be worth it...

And yes.. the NXT is nice...

You might get away with just Maquires Cleanerwax. Claying is a good idea after a winter or if your truck sits outside a lot.

I use both Meguairs NXT and Eagle 1 Nano wax. Both work great and add depth to your paint!

I will quote the detail guru himself (RockPick) to answer that question:
"Clay will remove the stuck on surface contamination that washing alone doesn't get. This may include sap, tar, and bugs just to name a few items. Ultimately, you're wanting your paint to feel like GLASS prior to any application of other products. This is what you'll hear us refer to as surface prep.
That quote is from this thread in the General Care forum:
Detail Basics
I really encourage anyone with detail, prep, polish, or waxing questions to check out the General Care forum. There's lots of good info. there.

One more thing... Meguiars, it's referenced 5 times above and misspelled every time

For ease of use, depth of finish, availiblity, and cost I recommend S100 Shine Enhancing Paint Cleanser and S100 Paste Wax, both avilible for about $25 at your lcoal Harley Davidson dealer.
