What are you using to clean your windows?

I love washing my rides but hate cleaning the windows. I have yet to find something that will leave them clean with no streaks especially noticeable when I'm driving towards a sunset...know what I'm talking about?

What stuff do you use and what kind of cloth do you use?

I always use Windex (for cleaning Glass) and large paper towels...I often use half the roll or more...Cloth just will not work for me...

Here's a second vote for exactly what Ahs said...

CG, you really should try microfiber... you'll drop paper towels all together!!

Vote #3. I used to hate cleaning windows too until I discovered this combination. No streaks, no lint and very little effort.

Vote #4 for this combo. Sometimes I use newspapers.

Vote #5 for Stoners and microfiber towels, and I've tried everything. Nuff said.

Angry Paper Towels.... NEVER!

Never use paper towels as they contain a wetting agent that will leave streaks.

I vote also for Stoner's Invisible Glass...and microfiber or the cotton towelletts that Stoner offers on their web page.

Another user. One MF towel for cleaning and one to buff dry.

I found it to be better and cheaper than Stoners..... it is a foam aerosol and sells for about $2.25-2.50 per 16 oz can (blue can).. you can probably find it in the cleaning aisle of Ralph's or one of the other supermarkets out there.... you can also find it in Costco occasionally....
I agree Mike. Stoner's was my favorite (and still very good) window cleaner until I picked up some SprayWay on a tip from a friend. I think it works just a tad better, and is less expensive....... even when buying individual cans.

When I'm too lazy to look for my window cleaner, I usually use my Poorboy's Spray & Wipe on the windows......... it works great too, and is always close by!

No, you're not alone on that one!

Seriously, they are both great products. Too bad the SprayWay isn't as readily available as the Stoners.

I've just always used about a half-gallon of really hot water, with a few drops of Dawn dishwashing detergent added to it - just enough to make it "suds" up a little. Wipe down both the inside and outside of the glass, and dry it off with a clean bath towel.

This has always worked like a charm for me, and I am a stickler about not having any streaks or smears on my car windows!

FYI - I never use fabric softner on the towels I use to dry my vehicles. I wonder if this might be where you are picking up some of your streaking (?).

Interesting note on using Stoner's products on glass as well as the tires - as I do. I have one itsy bitsy gripe here. Has anybody else noticed that both the Invisible Glass and More Shine, Less Time products come in virtually identical cans? I can tell you that the MSLT makes for an interesting effect on glass - and it's not invisible!

Remember, memory is the second thing to go.
