Brand new 2004 F150

Hello everyone this is my first post here and sadly its on a sad note

I have a question for some of you knowledgeable folk...

I just bought my new F150 XLT a week and a half ago and I noticed this evening a small chip in the paint just near the drivers side rearview mirror. It looks like a paint defect like a small bubble that chipped away.

My question is can I take it back to the dealer and have them fix it? The dealership seems like a great group of people but I am wondering if they are just gonna tell me too bad you bought it that way...

Anyone ever experience anything like this before and what was the outcome?

I love my truck I just about fell over when I noticed the bubble/chip in the paint.

depends on your dealer. If they are nice they might take care of it. I had two spots on my rear near the tail light from what looked like knicks as it sat on the lot. Before i purchased i had them wash it and went over every inch of it for lil crap like that and made them put it down that they would fix it. They said no problem but this was before i signed my life away so to speak. Hopefully they are a good dealership. If its obviously a defect they should handle it.

I'm pretty sure there is a 1-year warranty on paint defects. They should fix it no problem.

Happily I talked to the warranty coverage guy at the dealer and I am very pleased to report they are taking it in on Monday to repair it.

I stopped by the dealer they guy looked at it and said, "Oh yeah that is a factory issue."

Easy peasy 123zzzz!

God I love my truck!

Welcome to the site and congratulations on your truck purchase. I'm really happy that the dealer is fixing your paint problem. F150's are great trucks, can't help but love 'em!!
