Fuel Filters

I'm not sure which filter to go with here. My sis's car has a clogged fuel filter. I like hastings filters that Amsoil sells, there a reasonable price and from looks of it they seem to be really good filters. Here;s my problem, if they filter out alot of the stuff one would think they would restrict the flow of fuel to get all the crap out hence i would have to replace it again for her in the not to distant future. But I have never had experience with a hastings filter before.

Now, there's Autozone. They sell a foriegn fuel filter called Desutch(sp?) Would these be ok to use??? I don't want alot of junk getting up there in her car because she drives on the freeways alot for work. So what do you guys think, Hastings or Desutch(sp?) Tks everyone

well you could always go with motorcraft. Dont worry aobut changing it in the near future cause they last a while. I change mine every 50k (ive got 51k on truck and just changed it) but my moms van has 102k and its still on the original one...hmm got me thinking of my next task to accomplish around here...

clonetek recommends every 10K, but not sure if thats just for the L's, or for all f150's. anyway, he said go with motorcraft, so thats what i'm probably gonna do cuz thats what most guys here use. ford recommends every 30K miles, so there's no reason not to do it every 30K. i'll have to do mine this spring. that is going to be interesting

Okay, first things first... go outside, change the vehicle to a f150 and give us a call back...

LOL!! Yup, we're all happy now!

Nice truck btw!

LOL

Seriously though, the fuel filter replacement shouldn't be a super big deal in my opinion... the Deutch filter should be fine to use... I certainly wouldn't worry about the performance. Just my two cents though...

Good luck!

not really. with a ftvb and chip and all the other mods out there, a 5 speed L would actually be slower than a auto with the ftvb and all that. not to mention all the extra exercise you'd have to get from rowing through all those mile long shifts in a truck

now a 6 speed paddle shifter
