Got a Rhino Liner sprayed in yesterday
The only dealer around was Ziebart so I took it there. They tried to sell me everything in the store, but I only bought the liner. I knew from friends that Rhino is a great liner and I like how it is very rubbery. Well I got the truck and am less than impressed with the install job. They sprayed over the bed bolts. They also did the tie downs. I originally had them off the truck and said to leave them off, but they conned me into having them sprayed saying they tend to rust and most guys get them done and it looks good, etc. Well now they have these little nipples from the liner trying to drip when wet and will be clumsy to get rope around. I also found puddles on top of the muffler, gas tank, on frame rails, etc, although I believe this is from it leaking through the drain slots at the front of the bed. As for tailgate, they did a bad job taping the plastic cap and I had to use a razor to shave off areas where it leaked under the tape. Luckily all these areas that were dripped on, etc, were easy to clean up since they weren't prepped for the liner.
On the good side of things, the liner is very thick and overall looks pretty good. I have pics if anyone wants to see and compare it to Line-X. I am very happy with the liner, just not with the install job. Also, on my way to pick it up I was getting very close to their closing time. They were nice enough to call and find out if I was coming. Most stores/shops I've dealt with wouldn't think twice about closing down and leaving you stranded. However, I would think twice about doing business with Ziebart in the future.

The dealer/ installer makes the difference. I had my line-x done in Erie, PA. and it was flawless. No runs, drips or sags, and most importantly, NO overspray! A friend of mine went to a Rhino dealer in Mentor, OH. and had all of the problems that I didn't.
can you send picturesof your rhino lined truck bed? i'm thinking about doing it...thanks jd@daniels.cc
I was VERY unimpressed by my rhino lining. Same thing, sprayed right over the bed bolts. That was the #1 annoyance. Line-x takes the time to make sure you can get the bed off later if you need to be halfway removing the bolts, then spraying, then puttin ghte bolts back in. Plus my rhino lining is brown instead of black after only two years and I can't get it anywhere close to black again without painting it. I hate Rhino. I've actually been tossing around the idea of removing the rhino lining and having it line-x'ed. Line-x dealer says he'll do it ofr half the price if I bring him the chips from the rhino lining. I've already done a few test peels to see how hard it will bet o remove, not nearly as hard as I was led to believe.
Have had my Rhino lining for about a year, and am very happy with it. It was installed properly and looks great. The Texas sun faded it to gray, but a spraying with armor-all made it look new again.
Again, both are quality products. Your results depend on the installer's skill. I had Line-X done on my L, and I asked for examples of his work and references. He was happy to provide them. Though I didn't call his references, the job he did on my truck was identical to his model - a top notch installation.

I jumped in very early with the sprayed-on bedliner. I love it, and it has faded after almost 4 years. But still no scratches or dents. To get it black again I spray Simple Green on it and scrub it down with a towel - makes it all shiny and new again.
I too apparently have been taken for a ride by Zeibart. They are the only installer around, (Milwaukee, WI). The job was relatively neat, with little or no over spray, but they too sprayed over bed bolts. I was aware of this up front and for me, is not a concern. I do not anticipate ever removing the bed. However, overall thickness of the application is a crock!
They sprayed the coating less than half the thickness it should be. I have pictures if anyone is interested. Zeibart will not re-spray claiming the job was done right. And So far Rhino says they "are not able to control" how thick the dealers spray. Can't return for refund either. Think twice about using Rhino and/or Zeibart!!!!

Re-spraying can be done, but must be done right. Even if you do everything correctly it might not be as good as the original...kinda like getting body work done after a wreck. I have re-done many with good results including spraying over hack jobs done by the large horned mammal (I don't even like the R-word!).
There are a lot of bad applicators out there. And, because there are so many R & Z dealers, they have the most bad ones.
The applicator is a key component. However, there is a lot more to it than just the applicator. There are many formulas and several application processes. R & Z don't have the best of either. I know. I've been doing bed liners and other applications for over five years.

I had a Rhino liner sprayed in also. One thing they don't tell you is the liner will fade if you don't let them put a UV additive to the mixture. (yes, that costs extra) I had mine sprayed red and in 2 months it was orange. I went to another dealer and had the uv sprayed over the original. Cost me half of what the original liner cost. The original liner was sprayed by Ziebart. They went out of business right after they done mine so I was pretty much screwed. The other dealer was very good with his work. Remember the UV additive.
I have a Rhino liner and the dealer never told me about the UV additive. I have had mine for just about a year now. It had faded to gray, but I sprayed it with Turtle Wax's 2001. It has held up fine for about a month now. I had tried Amorall but it faded in about a week. I didnt realize that armor all original has no UV. Oh well, live and learn, other than that I am very happy with the Rhino liner. Paid $325 for mine here in Fort Worth.
I work for Rhino Linings here in East TN, and I have to say that we don't do any of the things mentioned. We won't let a truck leave until we're sure that all areas of overspray, runs, drips, etc are taken care of. Your experience has to be dealer related. UV additive is standard fare with the Rhino here in East TN. Many of our Rhino customers are repeat customers to our accessories store, and we like to keep it like that.

Like everyone has mentioned, it's the application not the product. I had a Rhino liner and the place that did the work was flawless. I no longer have the truck and haven't decided if I will keep my current one. If I do keep it I will most definately go back to them.
What I would recommend for anyone is to find people who have the liners sprayed in in your area. That way you can see first hand the level of work that they do.
