Nomo,
If you see this Ijust wanted to thank you for the great advice on the soft cover. I just got my Downey SST with the Carbon fiber look and I love it..
I'll get some pictures up as soon as the sun comes out. I installed it in 45 minutes dsuring my lunch hour...
A great and easy mod.....

Nomo,
So here it is. the sun finally came up and I was able to snap off a couple of shots. I wasn't too happy with the weather strip on the back rail sticking out a bit towards the corners so I called DOwney and they said it was no problem and they are sending me a new back rail. Their customer service was excelent.
Here's the first pic and I got a few more in my Mod album.
Thanks again.

Pics look great.
That's too bad about the weatherstrip showing- at least they are replacing it without a hassle. Our cover seals up tight. No leaks at all from any of our thunderstorms or the local car wash. Didn't even have to use the "extra" foam tape they sent.

Yeah, I might be too picky but I figure I want it looking right and they were super about making it right which is all I could ask for.
You can see a bit of the weather strip in in the pictures if you look close enough. I also wasn't too crazy about the slight hump effect the bows give the liner I liked the flat look a little better and so I called and asked them and they said they don't reccomend driving with out the support bows becuase they give the cover it's stability. So now I've pretty much gotten used to it.
I love the way it looks. I had my truck cleaned up over the weekend but I am looking forward to the next trip through the car wash to see how well it actualy holds up......

I'd be picky too.
How do you like the composite snaps? Be sure to kind of test them to make sure they have really engaged the rail. Our cover was "flapping" a little until I checked and found a few snaps that weren't really fastened. That's why it's best to do your own isntalls- or at least check the installer's work.

The Snaps are ok. I did have one or two that I hadn't pushed on hard enough but I got those OK. My thumbs were a bit sore the night after I put the cover on. Some of the snaps "snapped" a lot easier than others. Although I don't think it's going to be any problem at all taking it off when I have to.
I've been following Jenns post on the scratches she put on her truck reinstalling her hard cover and it makes me glad that I went with the soft. I still think the hard covers look better but if you need to be taking it off from time to time the soft is the way to go.

Yeah, I saw those gouges in her bed... OUCH!!
The snaps are a bit different, but I've figured out that you have to get them at the right angle for them to "snap" easily. The soft cover is nice in that when you take it off, just roll it up and put it, the bows & back rail behind the seat. I leave the side & front rails attached and have yet to have them get in the way. Just be careful with that back rail... it could scrape the paint.
