Question Hard-top Folding Tonneau Cover...

Does anyone have any suggestions for a hard-top folding tonneau cover for a 2002 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat FX4? I can find all sorts of soft-top covers, but no hard-tops...unless they're one-piece units, but I'm looking for the folding type. Thanx.

I have a Access hard folding cover on my '07 that was put on right after I bought it and haven't had any seriouse problems wih it. Just minor tightening of parts due to wear and tear. It folds up easy when I wan it out I the way and it's only two screws to remove it if I want it off. I believe there's a couple o decent pics of it in my albums. If you want others let me know and I'll try to snap you some more pics.

Do you have a 5.5 ft. or 6.5 ft. bed?

I think it was the 5.5 foot bed. It's been so long since I've worried about how long the bed is I don't remember for sure. If you need to know for sure I can always measure it for you.

BAKFlip G2, Extang Solid Fold & BAKFlip F1 seem to be very popular items.

So after doing more research I feel like an idiot that doesn't even know what's on his truck. My cover is actuall an Advanced Folding Cover. Hope you can forgive me. It was back in 07 that I bought it!

Don't forget to check out Fold-a-Cover!

We were the first company to patent a hard-folding tonneau cover over 25 year ago! We've been manufacturing our tonneau covers for Chrysler and GM as OE accessories for over 18 years!

Check us out at FoldaCover.com!

My previous truck had the Extang Solid Fold. I loved it. You could stand, sit, lay, and put just about anything you wanted on top of it just fine. The only issues were with the weather stripping closest to the cab (It started coming off after a year) and to get full access to the bed, you had to fully remove the cover. The last panel takes up about 2 feet of bed space.

I currently have the BakFlip FiberMax and love it as well. Much lighter and it looks sleek. You can gain full access to the bed by folding the cover up against the cab without removing it. It sits almost flush with the bed sides. The only cons for me are that you can't close the tailgate with the back of the cover down and you can't put your weight on it.

If I were to pick between the two, I would say the FiberMax. It looks nicer and does its job. But I do miss the weight bearing functionality of the Solid Fold. It comes in handy more than you would think.

BakFlip G2 on my 2013 6.5 foot bed. Really like it so far. It's like the FiberMax il duce described, except the exterior is aluminum. Folds up right to the rear window.
