Line-X color question

One more Line-X question. I finally got my truck

Will Line-X Xtra be able to match this gray?

Yes, I just had Line X Xtra put in my truck on Friday, and I had them match the color of the Xtra with the color of my truck - Dark Shadow Grey. And let me tell you what, it is absolutely unbelievable. The color is so good, you would have to see it to believe it. But even if it isn't the dark shadow grey like what I have, they are able to match the paint code pretty well so that it is dead on or darn close to the same as what you have. Either way, LineX is the way to go!

I thought I would throw in a few comments.

While Xtra will contain the same pigments and metallic flakes as the truck's paint, it will not reflect light the same way as the truck's paint. The truck's paint is a two or three stage process (base coat, middle coat, clearcoat on top) and is a smooth surface. Xtra is a single stage process with a textured surface. As sort of an optical illusion, the textured surface sparkles in the sun (a LOT) which sometimes tends to make the bedliner look lighter in color due to the white sun reflections although it's really not ligher in color. Don't let these comments scare you, LINE-X Xtra is a pretty awesome looking bedliner.

Hello TruckGasm
Will most Line-X retailers take the bolts out of the bed during the first coat of Line-X and then do the Xtra coat after they replace the bolts back into the truck. Is there a certain way I should ask for this? Does it typically cost more for this type of service? I really appreciate all your comments truckGasm

PDez, I have to add that my Line-X Xtra is the color of my lower

accent paint (Pueblo Gold, I believe they call it) and it is so close I really can't tell. I don't think that given the texture, they could have got any closer. By the way, TruckGasm did mine and I'm very happy with it.

My truck is what Ford calls "medium wedgewood blue".. My Line X dealer matched the color perfectly.

As TruckGasm said, the base color is a perfect match, the texture and gloss of the Xtra color-match just adds another dimension.

I was a little nervous when I turned my truck over to Line X of Austin and Pat told me I'd be only the second Xtra Colormatch that they'd done!!.. LOL.. that was just over a year ago, Colormatch was relatively new then.

I couldn't be happier with the job they did!

click my little camera icon up there for some before and after pics.

There's no right or wrong answer here, it's whatever you want. Cost wise, it doesn't matter, there should be no additional charge.

Most dealers remove the hardware, apply LINE-X and Xtra, and then reinstall the hardware. If you want something different, that should be just fine. I suggest you discuss the matter with the dealer BEFORE he starts working on your truck.

That looks really sharp using your two-tone accent color to coat the bed in. Looks really nice!
