Question Plastic vs. spray on?????

I'm having a hard time deciding. A person I know said he had heard spray on has a better warranty. So I am posting the question here hoping to get some feed back on the different bedliners. I was thinking the duraliner. Seen a truck with the spray on and wasn't to enthused. What are some prices to be looking at? Just so that I have an idea. Thanks.

Doug

I'm on my 3rd spray on and like it. I also have a bed-rug in my Lightning.
The Line-x spray on is $6-700 and if you do a color match it's another $150-200.
I hate the plastic since everything seems to slide around in them. I only did that in one of my trucks years ago and would never do it again.
Just my thoughts anyway since there are an awful lot of plastic ones out there. I suppose they are cheaper though and do provide the bed protection. If you haven't had one before just picture a can of paint sliding around on the plastic surface like happened to me on my first one.

Good Luck!

Bill

The DualLiner has a lifetime limited warranty now, too.

LINE-X is not $6-$700, but I wish it were! A more realistic price range is $400 to $550 for a black bedliner for a short bed.

Line-X is over $600 where I live. Based on other posts I have read on Line-x the prices seem to range anywhere from $350-$700 depending on what part of the country you live in.

True! And it is in the $300 range shipped, no other liner can touch that!

You can get a new bedliner for $25, I sold one yesterday, seriously!

Also, you need to read the DualLiner warranty. It's warrantied against "defects in material and workmanship" only. I'm not knocking the product or warranty, but you need to understand what they mean by a lifetime warranty.

drop in plastic liner will rust your bed floor away. Spray in will last forever, and nothing will slide around in it, Rhionoliner sprayin was $450 for me.

I have had drop-in liners in the past but with my new truck I added a Line-X spray in liner and I could not be happier. I did a lot of homework comparing different spray in liners and the Line-X came out ahead in the end. It may cost a little more (I paid $450 out the door for it installed) but it is worth every penny to me.

The Dualiner sounds like a great idea, but what about when you are loading something large into your bed and can't move it because of the rubber bottom?

Good point, but what about when you have something large in your bed sliding around? sure there is tie downs, but why not have it STUCK to the bottom and tied down. There are +'s and -'s to everything.

I had a 98 with a drop in plastic bed liner. It looked like it had been in there the life of the truck. I took it out once to clean under it, and it wasn't rusted at all.

Every spray-in guy loves to yell rust. I don't see it. Maybe after 15+ years or so. Yes stuff slides, but line-x slides too, and I like the looks of line-x the most. Just secure stuff with tie downs. Who would really put a loose can of paint back there??? Not real bright...

I will say that line-x does look best though. It makes a drop-in look like.....well, a drop-in.

I'd get line-x if you have spare cash, but a drop-in plastic liner will serve you fine......FOR CHEAP!

I have a duraliner, things dont slide as much as some liners. Aside from the affore mentioned pros and cons, if you use your truck as a truck and occasionally haul heavy things, the plastic liner will proteck your bed against dents from stacks of things falling such as landscaping stones, patio pavers, cinderblocks etc...

I think my reflected that it wasn't one of my brighter moves... but thanks for your acknowledgement anyway.
