LineX matches the bed contour perfectly but I'm not sure what you mean about the 2x4 and the indentations.

That's the only way I can tell the degree in which my Line-X faded.
I have 2 2x6s (stacked) in the slot nearest the tailgate.
Two 2x4s wasn't tall enough and one 2x8 didn't go in easily.
The two 2x6s make a nice eleven inch wall.
They have been there for six years, used as bike clamp support and grocery/luggage barracade.

I was fairly sure they would, and not that it's going to change anything, just had to ask people how that works out after the Line-X is in. I like having a board or 2 back there to keep my beer closer to the tailgate.
