I went to the Lincoln dealer down the street from me yesterday to get parts numbers / prices. $432 would be the total bill. I can't seem to figure out the ford parts.com website to look this stuff up....

Man, I want to do this mod, but I'm still saving for my dune grapplers. The Torq-thrusts in the garage demand it!

$450, plus another 100 or so for paint......grrr I hate the military pay scale.

Well, here's the thing, I can't seem to find, or am too stupid to find, under the drill downs, the parts for the door handle assemblies...

I found the handle for the tailgate, that was easy. But the same logic doesn't seem to apply for the doors....

Nice

I think I've only ever seen 3 Mk LTs, wasn't sure on the colors available.....

hehe back to saving pennies, but I just checked and I still have the code from when I bought the truck.

edit...wow those are the prices? $ 240 plus shipping....hehe I may get those those on next week. Well thats if I still have the money, supposed to be getting a biege 6 piece grill off a buddies Lariat that would look WAY better on my truck 8).

That's two fronts and a tail gate. Rear doors for a SCREW are about the same as the RT front $$. I miss quoted the MSRP, But still steep.

70.77
127.17
37.05
Respectively.

[QUOTE=roushlimited]Other than not reinstalling the lock cylinder no.. A recommendation though to anyone that eliminates the keyhole, remove the metal lock cylinder rod as well. Being that the lock cylinder is gone the rod just floats around in there and makes a clanking noise when you unlock it. It's very easy comes out just like the handle does.

how did you remove the keypad wouldnt there be holes where the numbers were?i thought all Mark LTs had the keypad.where do you guys find part numbers?fordparts.com doesnt have PN's with colors.

Just FYI... I just paid 40 something for the right front, and 70 something for the driver front from the local ford dealership....

Also, another little tip. The black plastic ring at the top of the door panel where the door lock stem protrudes comes right out. Makes it easier to get everything lined back up when replacing the door panel.

Easy way for releasing the door lock rod from the handle is getting and old screw driver about the same diameter as the rod and shaving down the tip. Stick it into place of the rod's clips and the rod will pull right out.

After you acomplish you first door. The 2nd door can be done in under 10 mintues easy.

Additional Install Pics

Installed set of 5 handles on my '05 Lariat today & thought I'd post up a few additional photos. Some points I'd add for those who've not done this type of mod before or removed their door panels:

1) You don't need to worry about removing the speaker grills or speakers on the rear doors - don't even try or you'll break some of the pins (yes, I'm an idiot and tried this before realizing it wasn't needed ).

2) Remove the upper frame panel on the rear doors by popping it out w/a screw driver before removal of the main door panel as there's an additional 6mm screw.

3) It appears that my 2005 door doesn't have as large of openings to access the handle unit & rods - was a bit of a pain to get my hands in to pop out the rubber plugs (you can just use a flat head screw driver from the exterior by pushing in & prying them out instead) and to disconnect & reconnect the wiring harness for the driver door handle.

Below are some pics for more reference. As others said, once you do the first one the rest go pretty quick. It's well worth the effort and sweat as the finished look rocks!

I swapped the factory handles back on to F150 last week (to sell the LT handles) and it took me exactly 54min to do all for doors and the tailgate. Of course this was the 3rd set I had done so I knew a little about what I was doing.
