Talking

Here's How I did mine. Cost 9.71 at Lowe's.

The pipe I used was black sch 40. I used an Angle grinder to slim down the pipe. Worked really good. Took about 15 mins to do.

I think that Is very comparable to my old CAI. (i had to take it off, caused lean problems). Not much at low end, but defiantly an improvement in passing gear.

I am now adding my name to the Believer's List.

Did my 2001 SCrew 5.4 on the weekend.
Haven't had a chance really flush it out yet, but so far on 50 mph roads and one pass - it seems to be ballsier, when you punch it.
I think the computer is still calibrating, as I experienced some slight transmission shifting irregularities on the first ride after the re-set.
Is this normal?

thx Guys - I think I was in for $16.00 (everything is more expensive in Canada eh!)

LOL

I've just removed my AF1 CAI and thinking about doing this mod with DWV pipe to avoid having to file down pipe some. Thanks for the info

Ok I did this mod, someone help me understand something..I noticed after I removed the fender intake tube that the opening in the filter housing is much smaller than the small end of the intake tube, like maybe just an inch clearance around the outside of the filter. How can removing the fender tube allow more air when there is such a small clearance once the air gets to the housing? I didn't notice any improvement from doing this, and I did disconnect the battery for a half hour, so it's not because of that. I realize it's not like adding a supercharger, but I felt no butt meter difference at all..I'm thinking I'll just order a not-so-cold air intake that doesn't go into the fender, because the area where the air goes in is much bigger, and it also doesn't have the further restriction of the air silencer, just a big open filter and a big tube to gulp in lots of air. I found a few for about $150, not bad compared to some of the other prices.
