I mainly used a 4" grinder and cut-off wheel, but I did use an air body saw very minimally due to the fact I only had one blade left. I just marked the hole and made a bunch of pie-cuts to my mark then just cleaned up the edges real nice with the grinder...piece of cake!

Actually I have noticed a small increase in mileage(and I didn't change my driving habits). It's not very accurate but I am getting the same miles out of a tank as I was in the summer months. But so far I was only able to run through two tanks, now it is too cold (well below zero) to get "descent" mileage at all so I'll have to report with actual results later.

Hell no! I wouldn't have posted if I wanted to keep it a secret I was just trying to make use of crap I have lying around the garage and not spend any money.

Idc if its snowing im gunna go do it right now well i wont be able to cut a hole that big and what not today but ill do it the way the origonal post was.

same...its cold but hell ima try it. this may be a stupit question but...will it work with stock airfilter and a 2002 truck>? im broke now but when i get money ima get a k&n filter in there.

I'm still running the stock filter...I'm gonna at least wait till this one is dirty.

Well I decided to try this out tonite and welll... Im probly going to get at ticket for accelarating to fast now. Awsome improvement

Ok i'm a believer! Yes it took time to grined until i used dremil with a wood carving bit. No silincer on 2000xlt lucky i guess? Love this Mod glad i did it before spending big money on cold air intake! Cost $10.71 with tax not bad. The instant feel & sound awsome! Can't wait to get out on open road
