So i have been plannig on doing the "Gotts mod" for a while now. But i their are different versions. This one and another where you actually cut the plastic and you can see the filter just like a real CAI. This is the thread im talking about. http://www.fordf150.net/howto/airboxmod.php

I am scared if i do that mud or other debris will get sucked up. So doing this version where you cant see the air filter will you get the same results in power and sound?
I am planning in doing the silencer mod to.

Thanks

The point of doing it our way is that the air system gets air from inside the cooler fender area, as opposed to their way that inhales hotter under the hood air

And saves big bucks.... $15.00 to convert a factory air system vs $150 or more for a CAI
