custom badges are on!

I designed these emblems and took them to a local printshop. They are engraved into black plastic with a brushed aluminum face. I originally wanted real aluminum but they were afraid of rust.

Was that top pic taken in a race ?

I see a Dodge loosing ground on you, thought maybe you strapped the cam to the front fender and took the pic while pulling away from the Dodge ? <g>

They look good. What lights are those ?
I never thought to remove the emblem all together and just put the light there. Did the holes line up, or is this another take on the side marker mod, where you had to drill into the body ?

I didn't think that aluminum could rust?

The holes lined up fine for the marker light. When I designed the emblem I measured/fitted it for the light.

The beer cooler was on this side of the parking lot, the Dodge never had a chance!

I didn't think aluminum would rust either. But the printshop was afraid that it may discolor/rust because it was outside all the time. Then the discoloration/rust may bleed onto the paint.

Rust?

No aluminum cannot technically rust. Rust simply is iron that has oxidized into IronOxide (FeO2 I think). Since aluminum does not contain iron, it cannot rust. It might discolor however from road salt/grime, ect.

Look in your drivers manual, it should state that it is a 330.

Yes, but aluminum does oxidize, same chemical process as iron. The bi-product just isn't red looking.
