Billet Grilles... Are they different??

I was wondering if billet grilles made by different companies look different? I was looking into a stull billet grill only because I dont know much about the others and I dont want to get something that im unhappy with. I more than likely am going to go with the polished as well. Any input and links of where i could get one for my 98 F-150 I would appreciate it. So far the cheapest I have found is $178 and im not sure of the brand.
Thanks.

they are not all the same. Some have more bars in them, some less, likewise with the spacing between the bars...some more, some less. MOST are pretty close to the same however. But don't order one without seeing a pic first...

I've seen some that look like one big piece of billet they are so close together and some with only 7 or 8 bars...

Hope this helps...

If I can get a friend to test out his new digital camera, I'll post pics of my truck. I just installed a Carriage works grill on my L.

I recently paid $139.00 for a polished Stull Billet Grill. I bought it at a local speed shop. I've seen others at about the same price. The quality is good. I would buy it again.

Grilles... mmm..

I think i found one online... its a Trenz grille from truckperformance.com I have the chrome surrounding and they show a picture of what certian grille to get depending on your vehicles surround. I will more than likely go with this. I believe the price is 139.00 for the polished crome as well.
I hope it works out for me. I will most defiantly show some updated pics of my truck when im done.
Thanks again for the input.

4x4pwr,
Click on the link in my signature and then click on the little picture of my truck. This is a steel horse billit you can get thru whitney. Your grill is about the same as mine since you have a 98. Check close and see if your grill is a one piece. If so, you have to cut the center out manually and that is a PIA. The finished product is worth it...

Here's a photo of a Stull grill that I bought from the online store.
Very happy with the quality.

I would buy one again.

Nice Grilles!

Them stull grilles look sweet! WLF: really nice truck. Mine is a single piece like yours. So it looks like I will have to cut my center piece out.. My friend and his dad said they are up to the task if I buy one. So thats saves me another 150 on install. I really like the crome affect with the billet grille. I have the same type of outfit that you have going.. But instead I have a red truck. I am thinking of changing out my carbon fiber tails and switching them with Lightning Tails though. I saw it on another truck up here and it looked sweet!
Does anyone have a picture of their Trenz grille?? I have seen a lot of Stull's but not any trenz grilles yet. Thanks "Honster" for that link. It defiantly gives me a really good idea of what im getting myself into. Its defiantly a cheap enough mod that its worth the time to do. I will hopefully have one by the end of this month!
Thanks again.

Steel Horse upper and lower. It's just an opinion, but I actually like the wider spacing. It gives the front end some character.,,,,,,98

Thumbs down

Just make sure you don't get Precision. Less than 1 year yet finish is chipping already. Bad bad deal..

I can't imagine anyone charging $150 to put an upper in. Putting the Stull replacement in only took about 45 minutes. No offense intended but I helped a buddy stick the Steel Horse grill in his truck the black paint that is on the top and bottom of the grills peeled off in short order and it looked kinda strange looking through it. It didn't have as many runs in the grill and it was pretty easy to see.
