question about this grille

Can't speak for the Stull but my Steel Horse looked similar before install and you cannot see the supports. The fins may be a little closer togeather though. I have seen some that you can see the supports so maybe some of the guys here can give you a heads up or a couple of pictures. I am going to detail my truck this week so I will try to give you a picture by the weekend.
Here is my Stull installed
as you can see the supports are not visible. There are a couple more pictures in my gallery from different angles. There is a link in my signature to my gallery. I am guessing that the supports are so visible in that picture because there is light behind the grill so you can see right through it. When mounted there is very little light behind the grill therefore you cannot see behind it too well.
Jeff
I have seen grills that install over the honeycomb but you can really see that is what is done and they just don't look that good to me. If you have the painted grill then no problem, just grind off the tabs in the back and remove the old one. Mine was a nightmare. I have the chrome grill and I had to cut around the chrome then grind smooth. It was worth it though in the end.
Like I said, I will try to get some pictures up this weekend...

yah i hear ya on that one. mine i wouldnt call a nightmare, but it was pain in the azz. i took a chisel and a hammer, that's how i got the clips off mine, and yes i agree, all the work was worth it. i have had the thing on for a year and still to this day i get compliments. who woulda thought?????
Honster,
I've got the black stull grill and you cannot readily see the vertical supports on mine. The grill mounts with 4 straight, flat brackets. You drill 4 holes in the frame behind the stock grill shell....2 for the top and 2 for the bottom. I used bolts/nuts on the top and used the supplied screws for the bottom.
The critical aspect of the installation is being very careful when you cut the tabs off of the stock grill shell (surround). I used a Dremel and slowly let it grind away the plastic tabs. If you try to force the Dremel, it may slip on you...so go slow.
PS: Mine fits perfectly...flush up against the back of the grill shell. Also, I painted the metal brackets and screw heads black as I could see these from the front after installing.

I have a polished Stull, like the one pictured above. Bought it new on ebay for $102. No, you can't really see the verticle support bars because there is no real light behind, or inside the grille.
No cutting is required to remove the old grille, just a couple of screw drivers. I removed mine from the bezel without breaking any tabs, then sold it on ebay for $40. A fiber cutting wheel in a dremel tool worked great for trimming the bezel.
