New Mirror Caps Help
You can take the stock ones off, sand them completely smooth, and paint them. I did this twice with good results. My truck is also white.
The reflective mirror itself must be removed, then the cap can be taken off by removing some screws. There are video out there on how to take the mirrors off. Kind of annoying, but not too difficult.
I'm assuming you have a 2004-14. If it's older than that, I have no idea about how the mirrors work.

Pretty much what Kmac said. I'm pretty sure the 2009+ have removable caps. Most of the 2004 - 2006 models are 1 huge piece, and the 2007/2008 started getting paint/chrome options and developed a 2 piece cap.
Here is a video of me babbling, on disassembling the mirrors.

I used paint from Automotivetouchup.com to paint the mirrors, handles, emblems, badges, etc. on my truck. I got their body color paint and clear coat, and used Valspar clear/transparent primer for plastics. Rust-Oleum clear coat works well too though. Stark white colors are easy to match and paint and have look good.
If you open your driver's door, the sticker with your VIN, etc. will say: "EXT PNT: YZ" or something similar in the middle of the sticker. The "YZ" is the paint code for the Oxford White on my truck. There are two "different" codes for Oxford Whites, so just verify which one you have. I'm assuming the trucks should all have YZ, but I don't know.

Feel free to! Follow Darren's video to take the back off, then it's just a matter of masking off the cap and sanding with 180/200 and 400, then paint. I already bought myself all my Christmas presents haha
Well I got my retrofit headlights on Black Friday/ Cyber Monday, so I "didn't have a choice"
Nah, cause paint can't grab when you go up to grits that high. My paint says to use 600, but I've painted plenty of things with only going to 400 and you can't see any kind of sanding scratches with 400. I think 1000 and 1500, etc. are usually used to wet sand and/or take out imperfections in the paint.
