window tint help

Hey guys, so i have an 05 supercrew, black. I wanted to match the front two windows with 20% but it is so expensive, i found a guy who does awesome work on the side and he told me he would do my whole truck with 5% for 125$. His work is legit too, i like it dark but how much more likely am i gonna get pulled for 5 on the front windows then 20? Or is it about the same chance? Reason is it gets hot where im at and i also like to not be seen. I havnt asked about the price for just doing the front two 20 but i know it wouldn't be much at all. Thanks for the advice

Well it would depend on the police in your area. Arkansas is quite lenient on window tint, due to all the blacked out farm trucks if I had to guess, and I have only been checked once in my entire life. Got a warning even though it tested at 4% on the front and 1% on the back.

x2 it all depends on your area. Both my truck, and car have 5% all around and I have never had any issues in northern PA/southern NY.

I have to agree with what was said. It all depends on the area you're from. Im from Oklahoma and have never had an issue with my 5%. However, over christmas break I took my car which also has 5%, and was pulled over twice for it. Both times they let me go, but only since I was going to be leaving soon.

It realy does depend on where you live bmxican is right in the sense in California your pretty much screwed but i have been lucky so far. On my truck i did go 10% up front and back. Turns out really dark its been about 3 months now no problem. I pull up next to cops, they will look over and keep on going. But in my Charger i had 30% up front and 5% in the back and i would constantly pulled over for the tint. I think its more likely for someone in a car then a truck for something like this IMO. But the tint is defiantly a reason to pull you over just cause. To me i just tell my self if i do get pulled over for it, its only a $25 fix it ticket(in califronia). so to me its not that big of a deal. Heres pics of both.

Do like me, pay attention and roll the window down before the cops see. Most cops have bigger fish to fry but you could always run across the rockie thinking he's saving the world by giving you the ticket instead of doing real police work and getting DUI's or drug dealers off the street. . Luck of the draw I guess.

Trucks are often less pulled over for tint due to the privacy rear glass helps dim the cabin appearance. Often lighter tint on the front doesn't change it much but it does help the passengers be less noticed.

In Denver, you get a ticket for dark tint, especially if you're driving in the city. In the burbs, it's hit or miss.

Have you looked at the difference between 5 and 20? I have a hard time seeing at night with 20...but I've got bad eyes.

I guess what I'm saying is, there's a legal limit for a reason.
