OVERSPRAY REMOVAL! Help!
OVERSPRAY REMOVAL! Help!
Hey ya'll painted my fender/tailgate badges this past weekend...didn't mask off everything as well as I should have and have some overspray. I tried using clay bar to remove it, but it did not do much.
Any advice on where to go to properly and safely have this overspray removed?
FYI, I live in Fort Worth.
Thanks

Finger nail polish is acetone, I would steer clear of that stuff. Maybe if it was on chrome, but not the paint.
wipe with gasoline, followed by wash/wax and detail...
My god fathers truck was vandalized when he was young, said all the spray paint they put on his truck he was able to take off with a rag and lots of gasoline

paint thinner will work, just go easy on it and wash and wax the truck when done real good. Buddy does wholesale cars like that. Alot he buys will have stuff on the paint. He will use a little thinner to get it off, then wash and buff and wax it real good
Try grease and wax remover...PPG, Dupont...
Or 3M General Purpose Adhesive remover (can be bought at Walmart)
Thinner and anything stronger should be left to an experienced painter...
Claybar should work with paitence...

Sometimes buffing the car with wax or rubbing compound will remove overspray. Maybe scrubbing with mineral spirits. But I clay bar is the best way to removing the overspray paint. I don't understand how it not worked for you.
I honestly don't know, it worked on the loose overspray, but most of it seems to be strongly adhered. I think I am going to try a plastic razor blade.
