PTM journey begins?
Been scouring eBay for a PTM front bumper with fog light holes, and I might have found a good one.

I would still have to have it painted and find some fog lights to go with it, but it seems like a better deal than getting one from Ford. Anyone have knowledge of better deals out there or does this sound like a solid plan?
P.S. I plan on getting the rear bumper powder coated eventually.

Was the bumper from Rock Auto pretty close in price to the one on ebay? Either way, I'd feel better about the CAPA certified one from RA. I don't recall seeing anything about CAPA certification for the one on ebay.
Nice find, bud!
That's gonna look SOOOO nice when it's done!
Have you gotten quotes on getting the rear one powder coated yet? Seems like I paid $150 to get both the front and rear done on my old black truck (miss her
), but methinks our labor rates are lower 'round these parts.
Let us know how it progresses. Excited fer ye!

The price of the actual bumper was close, but shipping put it at $270. Not having the CAPA certification on the ebay bumper kept bothering me too.
I'll get quotes for the rear down the road, but I'm thinking around $150 for it too. I'll just have to pop the plastic bits off and ride around with an exposed frame for a while.

I believe I have the same aftermarket front bumper. NCID had originally bought it online and after he sold his truck I bought it for $175 in person. It feels as good as OEM. Dealership body shop manager advised me that buying a brand new OEM bumper would be a money waste as the quality if really not much if any, more improved than an aftermarket unit. I am glad with my purchase. It took only a hr to swap everything over.
Not so sure I would say no since the OEM fogs burn at 40 watts for 06/08. 3157s burn a hell of a lot less current. I would just wire in a separate switch and run the fogs whenever you want with whatever lights you wish. I want to do this but I chicken out of wiring work. I would love to be able to run my HID fog lamps without any other lights on.

Does that mean that with a regular headlamp switch, the fogs would turn on with the parking lamps, and if switched to a fog lamp pull out switch it would work like OEM?
I didn't change the switch inside the cab I just wired the fogs up to the park light wire behind the headlight housing. So I can turn the park lights on and the fogs come on or turn the headlights on and they are on. When i turn the lights out the fogs go out.
Well, got the bumper in yesterday and dropped it off out the local paint shop today. Paint and installation is going to run me about $290. Hopefully they'll be able to bolt it all up on Tuesday, fingers crossed.
