2005 f150 grille emblem

I'm bought a new ford emblem for my 2005 f150 because the other one was all faded out. Can anyone tell me the easy way to get the old one off and this one on? It came with no instructions. Thx.

I'm no pro, but I replaced the front emblem on my 06. Mine had two bolts holding it from the back, which i accessed by opening the hood. other than that, mine was fairly simple. Hopefully that helps, but I'm not sure if they changed from 05.

If you look in my gallery I have pictures of the emblem off and grill being painted. If not I can upload some here.

Basically open your hood, on the backside of the emblem from the inside of the engine bay you will notice 2 bolts holding it in place. Remove the nuts from the bolts and the emblem will slide out from the front of the grill. Replace with the new emblem.

If you wish to remove your entire grill to make it easier, there are bolts that line the top of the grill where it meets the hood. Access to those is also from the engine bay when the hood is open. Its quite easy and you will not need a mechanic to do it. Should take about 10-20 minutes.

heres a picture: (I removed the grill surround as I was painting it, so yours will have the surround still attached)

Ford Emblem

I agree with the previous post, Just open the hood and there are two bolts. My question is: Is their a good site to get a Ford Grille Emblem for a 2006 F150?

I finally got it. No bolts on back of mine. It was glued on.
