New ford emblem

Well I am sure there are a few of us out there that have your front ford emblems pealing. Not bad, but enough that water got in and wont get out. There are two people that I work with that have the same problem so I tried somthing out and I think it looks better, tell me what ya think.

First I pealed that plactic film off, this was a pain but I took my time. LOTS OF IT. brushed it with a bristle brush, to get any remaining chunks off. Then wet sanded with 800 grit, After this is taped it off, and used a razor blade to cut around the emblem and the oval on the outside edge. Used a polishing compound to smooth out the chrome. Then painted with a rattle can of black high temp engine enamel. It has stuck quite well so far.

Forgot to take off the little piece of tape in the loop on the F in the pictures above. whoops

Nice work! Someone told me the 9" emblem on the tailgate could not be customized. Anyone know why?

Not sure? I painted mine and added the overlays before Patriot stopped selling them. You can still buy Overlays, just not ones that say Ford, FX4, FX2, Raptor, etc.

Looks good. Those are some serious tires you've got there, by the way.
