has anyone tried doing this or seen it done before? just wondering if it would work with little or no mod.

yes, they will fit. the tail lights will need a little modding, as the reverse bulb is a different socket from the stock 97-03 sockets.

You'll also need a new hinge on the bed. And your tailgate will say SUPERDUTY across the bottom...

hey man how much moddin did you have to do to your factory setup to be able to install the 2008 tails? Did you have to buy a new light socket since the years are diff or what?

There are 2 mods needed. One clearance a tiny bit for the back of the bulb socket and then the second is you need different reverse sockets but since they aren't needed to drive they can be taped up like mine for now. Other than that 100% bolt on
