Easy man. They come off with a hair dryer and some fishing line. use krylon fusion to paint them, and 3m molding tape to put them back on

Per my post above, I painted mine on the truck because I thought it was going to be easier. It took me part of a Saturday and I let them dry for a week or so before applying the DSG inlays/overlays.

After nine months, they still look perfect on the sides and the back. The front badge has a couple of minor chips from rocks, but nothing that is noticable except when washing.

Overall, I give the project an A for looks/durability and an "easy" for the level of difficulty.

yeah you can either take them off with fishing line/hair dryer or tape them off really good and paint them on the truck. when painting them though they are plastic so try to sand most of the chrome off as possible.

I did not sand mine and getting the chrome off is not a necessary step. I used a red scotch pad and scuffed them up a bit, but that was it. The Krylon Fusion Paint adheres to plastic and they still look fantastic nine months later.

Notice the chrome is still clearly visible on the side emblem and the back just before I added the paper surround and painted them.
