I tryed to search and didnt really get what I wanted so...

For all you guys out there that have reverse lights out there I was wondering what you have how you like them and the price tag

**I want something that doesnt hang down a whole lot
**I want something that will project back alot so when hooking up in the dark, or skinning a dear, or whatever it may be that I dont have to be 6 foot from the truck to see what im doing.
** and this one goes hand and hand with the one above I want it to be bright and cover more than just like behind the truck something well kinda like my 05 fog lights I guess...( SOMETHING THAT FANS OUT)

Ive looked and looked but figured I would give yall a chance to tell me whats good and whats not since yall are the ones that have them and had experiance with them... THANKS!

I plan to mount them to the far points of my hitch assemly through the 3in. square, not a fan of the bumper but if you have it mounted in a better place let me know that too...

There are several people on here running compact fog lights as back up lights. I am planning on doing the same. There several inexpensive light out there. I plan on probably going with some low end Hellas like these:

I'm guessing these are not what you want, but I thought I'd bring them up here for those who maybe are not so do it yourself (me) oriented but might still want better back up lights. Thinking of getting one with the hitch to replace my standard trailer hitch and give me more light for hooking up. Here's the link...

Good looking out there smokin ive checked those out but im sceptical if they are bright enough... and second of all what do you do if your pulling something or have the ball reciver in thats all im sayin....

One other thing I will say and there is countless people that do this I know but I personally am against it heres my 2 cents... when you put something like that in... by that i mean Iron and similar to a ball mount reciver going down the road over time it works the whole larger and larger (due to virbation) and when you finally do pull something you get this clunking/clicking sound every time you take off or brake from the reciver moving forward and back and up and down inside the reciver not to mention every bit of the paint and whatever galvanising there is off and ends up rusty as heck

Yes i know this will happen anyways but by putting something like that in it just speeds up the process faster... little "plugs" arnt so bad because there so small and no weight to them

get some 20.00 fog lights from walmart and mount them under your truck. Easy install and great light output!

So Skylift --- are you saying I should not have anything in the receiver unless it's being used? I keep my ball hitch there for the sometimes when I pull my balloon or golf cart trailer - but I've never heard of them rounding out or enlarging the opening. Should I only be putting the hitch in place when I'm truly towing? Never thought of that being a problem.

I have left my 2" drop and ball in the receiver since the day I bought the truck last April. It doesn't make any more noise now than it did when it was brand new and no more than it did on my Dakota before. I have only pulled a trailer a few times since then. I also use it as a tie down point quite often when hauling stuff in the bed.

 

i did the same thing (walmart lights) but i got the rectangle ones so i could mount them to the top of my hitch bar, you can barely see them from the rear but they def do the job. i just wired them into the hitch lights so they come on when in reverse
