Only a 100 MPH

Seriously My truck cuts off at 100...My friend has a 09 chevy and he thought he was badass untill both of our trucks cut off at 100 MPH. Any ideas on how to fix it. Or why they make it cut off there instead of 110 or 120 like the dash says.

Both trucks are 4x2 mine is a Screw and his a extended cab..Needless to say we all know that the ford was going to win.

They all have limiters at 95 to 100. A tuner can reset the limit.

Most tuners can actually remove the limiter. I know my limiter is removed. I have no idea why I would need to go that fast. but I can, lol.

Yes true no need to go that fast. But it's always nice to know that u can go that fast in case of emergency like if, I don't know the world is coming to a end and I need to drive through a falling build or escape the ground from falling out from underneath me...lol

Reset the battery. That will remove the limiter.

I dont know on what vehicle. Never heard that one. It won't on the later model trucks. The limit is controlled by the program in the PCM and that program must be modified to change the maximum speed.

Is your truck an 09? If it is PCM controlled, it resets the Adaptive Driving memory and all your radio settings, ect.

The limiter is usuall set due to the speed limitations (rating) of your tires

If it makes you feel any better my wifes mustang tops at 110. Im not even through 4th gear and im banging the limiter.

I dont know how stable our trucks would be at high speeds, i have 2-4 drop kit and h rated tires and i wouldnt make high speed manuvers too abruptly in mine.
