Removing Badge Lettering
Removing Badge Lettering
So the F150 lettering on my badges is chipping off and I want to completely remove it because I am going to paint them soon. Hoping I can use some household product so I don't have to go out and buy something.
What do you guys recommend?

I know you said you didn't want to buy anything, but 3M adhesive remover is made specifically for removing body clad moulding and emblems from vehicles without damaging the finish. You can buy it at NAPA for like $15.
I dont want to take the emblem off, just get the black lettering off. I guess Ill try the acetone tomorrow.

Was there a bunch of little holes on the fenders and tailgate behind the emblem when you removed them?

Acetone didn't work. I just took a flathead and scraped it all off
It got scratched a little but I figured I was going to sand it before I painted them so its only temporary. Also ordered some inlays, FX4 decals, and overlays from Patriot.
