Patriot Overlay Tips?

Got some new overlays from Patriot Decals today for my Tailgate and Wheels.
Any tips or words of advice before I install? I have the directions, but thought I would cover all my bases by asking for some feedback here.
Thanks,
Steve

pretty straight forward if you follow their directons... use windex, spray the emblem and the back of the overlay... put it where you want it.. squeege the excess out... let dry.. pretty easy

Though windex is need, it doesnt take much. The more you put on it, the more the decal will move around on ya.

Once you have most of the overlay down and have all the bubbles out that you can get out, i used a hair dryer to help smooth it all out and finish it off.

How do you guys compensate for the raised lettering of the emblems? Do you sand them down?

You can. I did on my second set, but didnt on my first set. Also depends on whats on the overlay. If it doesnt say Ford, the letters behind are more noticeable(see upper right badge). But if you're getting the same text/font, you'll be fine.

Same way you remove the others. Just a bit tougher because of the "indent" .

I didn't sand down my first one... and even though my first one had said "Ford" in the normal Ford font, it still became a total PITA trying to line up the raised letters on the oval, with the letters on the decal. In fact, I couldn't get it quite right, and still have the oval correctly centered too.

So, when I redid it it with my "Fish" decal, I definately sanded the lettering all the way down first. I used an electric sander, with 400 grit, and it took surprisingly more sanding than one might expect ! But it came out sweet though

Peace,
Fish

Did you request that font or is it a default?
