by light coats... i assume you mean just going over it kinda of quickly instead of holding the can right over it

I applied the Arizona Beige. I will try to take some pics, but I am not thrilled with my job. I noticed some imperfections and tried to touch them up but it is still a bit noticeable. It looks alright but not how I would prefer it to look, so I am going to see what my dad thinks and if he is like ehhh, maybe I will see if he can help me sand them down and try again. Like you say, practice is what gets the good results

No, Krylon makes Fusion. You want to get the Duplicolor paint.

Anywho, here are some pics. The whitish areas are where I F'd up with the clear when I painted my mirror black. Not the greatest, but I'm young and have to start somewhere. Eventually I'll prolly just get new mirrors with the turn signals/heat, but for now, the more I look at them, they don't look that bad. The gouges are from the previous owner. Pain in the butt, but the truck has very few flaws.

A messed up area below.

I think my problem was with the black, which I was trying to lower the maintence level on some of the plastic. That is what is bothering me. The caps themselves are not bad, but I hope the clear will lose some of that whitish look as it weathers. Overall, a mod I wanted to do and it looks better, I hope Kankles, I really appreciate you contacting Pep boys for my paint number. Many thanks

hey buddy let me tell you...for not having any experience at all, it came out real good. like i said everything comes with a little practice. no problem calling pep boys, thats what im here for. this site is to help others out with the knowledge you've learned and things you've done. rather help out a fellow ford owner than a Chebby owner haha

went over to summit racing and got a can of white primer, 2 cans of paint, and 2 cans of clear, along with tape and some sand paper. made sure to buy enough to do the handles, tailgate and mirrors.

The paint code is an exact match, but I did not sand, so I do not have the glossy look that some have. I will try to get pics this weekend. I bet you guys can get them better than me. There are some mistakes up close

yeah everyone is going to have mistakes... once I do this i'm sure I will too... all about the learning process... I'm kind of hoping to paint the putco door handles and do the mirrors all in one weekend... soon as free time comes... cuz wow soon as ppl start going back to school i feel like a moving company.. everyone is calling for me to haul trailers.... which is okay..... most of them pay in beer, and gas
