I am having trouble finding arizona beige (my truck color). I know where to get it online, but I am trying to avoid that.

i went to the local pep boys and they have a book for the krylon spray cans just look at the inside of the driver door and remember the exterior paint code and in the book it details it out for you which can your Arizona Beige is...for example dark red toreador's code is JL so in their mag color JL was something like DSMF-373 and so then you find that on the shelf and buy it along with their top clear coat.

did that help?

i did two coats base and 3 coats clear

1.tape everything off except for what you want
2.then i used 320 grit sand paper and smoothed it out
3.then used primer adhesive (1 coat)
4.then used 600 grit sand paper just so the base would stick real well
5.then 2 base coats
6.then 3 clear coats.

this is a really easy mod and makes the truck look a ton better.

i would stay away from everything but krylon, its the only thing that i seem matches really well IMO. some people say to start off with something like 60 or 80 grit sand paper but i just stuck with 320 and 600 it worked really well.

hope this helps

yeah im almost positive i saw it at pep boys and its like 5.95 for a 5 oz can of 6.95 for a 11 oz can i think not sure but hell of a lot cheaper than 20-25 bucks online. im sure if they dont have it they can order it for you and it shouldnt cost any extra.

okay good to know... i may try this soon as i get some free time... now I've never messed with using a clear after painting... what exactly does that affect? how shinny (for lack of a better term) or to take away dullness??

well the dupli-color comes out pritty shinny i wouldnt call it dull by any means, but from my experiences with the clear coat it helps shine it up a little more make it loo more OEM and prolongs the life of the paint as in chipping and what not. i would highly recommend putting at last 2 clear coats i did three because that is just what i always do.
