Not sure which is going to look better. Hellas (darker) or FX2s (lighter) Grille is an FX2. Thanks for any input. Both badges front and back have carbon fiber patriots overlays on them. The oval is no longer blue.

 

I think FX2 (or FX4 Luxury; same thing) headlights would look better simply because they are DSG and will match the grille and the accent color on your truck.

 

I found an FX4 luxury pic. Man they are pretty light gray. hmmmm

 

I say hellas since I've read that they have the carbon fiber inserts i think it'll match with your over lays and besides i think they would look better just be different from all the fx2/fx4s that rolled out the factory with the light gray headlights...

I agree, X3. The color of the FX2/FX4 Luxury lights are Dark Shadow Gray. They will match your bumpers and the lower paint on your truck.

I have a DSG truck with FX4 Lux lights and they match the color of the hood exactly. I also have the DSG Overlays with Flat Black letters from Patriot. (Which do not match as closely as the headlights...)

See, yours look darker than the picture I posted. I'm leaning FX2s after seeing your pic. I think the Hellas will be too dark.

I guess I could buy some FX2s and run them. If I think they are too light, I can take my stocks apart and paint them while running the FX2s. Then sell the FX2s once I have mine painted.

 

They look darker in some of the pictures, but in person they look the same color as the rest of the truck. I looked around a long time for a DSG FX4 with the Luxury package because I knew I wanted to go with a DSG and black theme on my truck. The lights, bumpers, door handles and front grille all match and I think the FX2 lights will look good on your truck, as well.

Here is another picture which looks darker. I also went with the stealth bulbs knock-offs for the running lights, so you do not see the orange unless they are on or blinking. I think they were $5.99, plus shipping, which was a lot less then others have paid.

I have to agree with the majority on this one too, FX2 lamps would look better with the grille and accent color of your truck.

 

Mine is an '08 with the luxury package. IMO it's hard to capture how dark the lights really are with a camera. This is probably the best pic I have of my truck showing the lights (I don't have the FX2 grille on in this pic but the combo of the DSG lights, DSG grille, and DSG accent color looks great):

 

FX2 it is. Thanks guys. I was talking to my wife about this last night. She emailed me today at work and says: "I've never heard of gray headlights. Get em. Happy Anniversary" 16 years tomorrow. I got a good one.

 

i would stay away from Hella's until they redesign them. i have a set that started to "peel from the inside. Hella is covering them under warranty, but I have been waiting on a new set for 6 months.

 

I think you made a wise decision. They're going to look great on your truck!
