But I'm just being devil's advocate here. If there's a way past this I really would like the console shift. Maybe a touch screen? I don't know, back to Google searching!
  • wire it up like a normal ipod to a hidden HU, most people put it in the glove box
  • duh the ipad is the removal hard drive
  • doesnt ipad have a cell service plan?

If he bought the 3G one, but it'll be capped data up to 2GB. Either pay for data for the iPad or tether it.

I may have to do some photochops of the iPad install. I know I read a build up over on http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/car-pc-forum/ So I know that it can be done. I'm just not totally sold on it yet. Back to the drawing board...

So... here you go... thoughts...

personally i think the dash should come more straight down. Feel less like you're sitting in a barrel or tunnel, and more like the console meets the dash, not the other way around.

if that makes sense

I think that I understand. I want to do another sketch, I had an idea in the truck a minute a go while I was looking at everything. But I'm just grabbing a coffee really quick before work. I'll try to post something up tonight, and if it's not what you were saying maybe post a quick sketch up yourself just to clarify?

Thanks!

Did a new chop this morning. I'm not totally sold on the carbon... I was just playing around with different ideas. Although at this point everything that's Carbon Fibre imagine that in Piano Black as well.

So I haven't posted in awhile (just too broke to do anything...). Anyway I just got an email from Tirerack saying that they have these in stock. Very excited for a classy, simple 6 spoke wheel. This may happen in the future (Assuming I don't find a set of '09+ FX4 Wheels).

@Dinggus

Not great. I don't have a garage or anyplace to really work on stuff over the winter (gravel driveway in the snow is not happening). But I'm trying to save money and come up with ideas so when the spring hits I can get moving.

I understand, can't wait to see it. I'm debating on what to do with the truck. I love my truck, but gas is outrageous, I'm not going to enjoy driving it form NC to TX.

See what it costs to ship it.

If the military will pay me back to ship it, I will. But, I also need it to move.

Just ordered some more parts for the console project. Should have them here in the next week or so.
