Removing license plate bracket

Hey guys

i decided tonight that i am going to remove my front bumper license plate bracket whatever you call it.

anyway i was wondering how should i go about removing it?

there are two pieces that are stuck in between the metal bumper and the lowest plastic one that goes around the tow hooks.

has anyone removed one and knows a trick?

if you crawl under the front you will see the two bottom plastic tabs between the bumper and the valence, you just need a flat head screw and flatten i guess you would say, the tabs so you can push them out, then the top 2 tabs will "unhook" after the bottom is released , by lifting the bottom of the plate bracket towards you.

or you can just rip it off.........

its very easy, just crawl under and take a look , its just those 2 bottom tabs that you have to undo

yeah i crawled under there but the 2 brackets are really up underneath this metal piece of the bumper. i could barely fit my hand up into it. it kind of felt like the only thing holding it was at the end of the tab was a + shape.

i would rip it off but it is required in the state of WA to have a front license plate. so just in case i ever do get pulled over i can BS the cop

i would still try a flat screwdriver .

Rip it off and throw it up in the front windshield or attach it to your skid plate?

Same here - just pulled and the tabs gave and off it came with no damage to them. TX requires the plate here too but from what "heard" only if the vehicle CAME with the mount and the mount stays attached. Seems to me that means if there is no bracket then how would you put a plate there...mmmmmmmmmm we'll have to test that theory I guess.

Doesn't matter if there is a braket or not, you're still required to display the front LP in Texas. Mine is off and havent had any problems.
