Whats up guys, I did some digging about grilles and to be honest I was completely wrong re guarding my trucks grille. I would like to purchase a new grille to complete the look of the truck for now. I have read on here where you guys have mentioned you didn't like bolt overs, and preferred cut outs. What is the difference? Most of them look like bolt overs, drop me some info when it comes to shopping for grilles, if you remember a post I couldn't find send me the link. Thanks everyone.!

 

Depends on the style of grille you want. I replaced my bar grille with an HD grille.

If you have a chrome surround with a billet bolt over grille your stock grille whatever color it may be will show all the way around. If you have a black stock grille then the bars on the billet grille will stop about 3/4 inch away from the chrome surround because the stock grille is still there. If you buy a full replacement billet grille the bars on the grille will damn near touch the sides of the chrome surround. A replacement looks much better/cleaner as well as a more full look on the front of your truck. Look at carriage works billet grilles. They sell both styles and you will see what I mean. Be very careful if buying on ebay. The will say replacement but they aren't always.

 

Heres my front, I guess im on the 2nd option you spoke of Ronix. When I was bouncing around on ebay I was under the impression that those replacements actually replaced the ENTIRE grille itself, not just the insert that is inside of the original grille lol. I would have gotten myself into a mess, ne ways I guess theres really no way to go cheap on a grille if you want it to look right. NC I really like the look of the vertical billet grilles man, I seen a style on ebay once, then a few on websites but I think the one on ebay was sweet looking. It was a bolt over tho and I dont want anything to look stupid.
BTW: I really like color match, I know I have alot of chrome on the XLT but I really want whats there to be the last of it, not gonna be into doing a chrome grille surround. Thanks!

 

roush overstock is where most get theirgrills from full replacement 88 bucks cant beat it

 

I just looked at there website a fella in classifieds has got one hes getting rid of. I dont know tho just what it would look like. I kinda like the darker style that your grill has JJ.

Bolt-overs should be avoided like the plague. They are hideous. Even from a distance you can see the stock grille behind it. Inserts take longer to do and cost more, but they look a helluva lot better.

 

mine is a roush grill and bought a piece of one someone else cut up and made the bottom got to do alittle more work on it yhough

I'm the guy with the one in classifieds. I've sent you a couple emails. Check those. This is the grille. You simply pop out your honeycomb insert - it's held in by plastic clips. Then the Roush grille snaps into place. It will look awesome with your truck color.

If you do this carefully you may then be able to sell your honeycomb insert - sometimes there are guys here looking for them.

The Roush insert comes with install instructions and includes a bracket to remount your blue ford oval if you want it. You would have to remove that from your honeycomb. If you don't want the ford oval, just go without it. Another option, I've got a brand new Oval that I'll toss into the deal for another few dollars. They're $20 new from the parts house.

Ive got this you can get it on ebay for about $75

Everyone i know thinks it looks awesome. Takes about 3 minutes to install and looks great. I get compliments on it all the time. They might be frowned upon around here I dunno alot of time enthusiast sites dont like things like this.
