A lariat passed me today on the interstate with some sort of lower grill and like the last poster said, it just didn't look the same, the bars were different or something...

I hear you !

I need one to match my Roush grille too ! Geez, it seems to me Roush would whip out an order of like 20 thousand of those things, for $5 a piece, then sell them for $49.95... Easy money !

Hmmmm,
Fish

how did the grill turn out? you would think as hot as the grills are selling this would be a sign to them to design this even at 49.95 its still cheaper than buying the grill just to cut up

I wonder if they're even producing the grill anymore since the 09 is out now. I looked and looked also and couldn't find one. I ended up buying a lower grill from a guy on here. It doesn't match perfect but actually looks pretty good. I'll have to get some pics tomorrow.

One tip for anyone thinking of making your own . Cut the grill so that you have 5 ribs .I tried just cutting 3 ribs and make it fit with in the opening and it looked terrible. But if you cut 5 . It fits really good. The top and lower ribs will not be seen . they will actually be behind the bumper. This helps keep the grill in place as well . Once you get to this point .You will be more able to see what you need to better support your new insert. I guess I need to take a picture of my install from behind the bumper.

Sorry, if he told me I don't remember. I bought it from IDNC76. Maybe send him a pm and he could tell you.

Take a look at the Monster Billet insert from American Billet. I pt one in my 06 Lariat with the Roush grille and it's close to matching. The bars are thicker than typical billet and slightly further apart. Not exact match but close --- having said this, I found picks in another post of a guy who cut and made his own Roush insert. Since I wrecked the front end at Christmas I'm doing the same. Roush had the grilles on sale for $88 - about half price at end of year - not sure about now.
