Question OEM Fog Setup

Ok guys, I am still in the debate about doing an OEM fog setup on my 2001 2WD F150. I'm not sure wheter to check the junkyards here in DFW for a 99-03 4WD lower valance w/ fogs & w/o tow hooks. I can get a repoduction one from Certifit.com who has a store like 10 mintues from my school. But I'm skeptical on how it will line up with the bumper, although the chrome bumper is a repo, since I wrecked the OEM one...:o

Anyways, how hard would ir be to get a headlight switch, with fog light switch, wired up so It operates like from the factory??

And should I just get the Repo lower valance? I think Certifit has it for like $24.95.....should I just get it?

Anyis there a MAJOR difference between the Euro clear lense fog lights and the OEM "mangled" lense fogs?

Thanks for the input guys!!

It wouln't be that hard to get OEM style lights to light up, but to get it to operate like it was stock would be fairly difficult in that you would need a new switch for your dash and what not. Which would entail you basically pulling the entire dash out.

I would just get the OEM stuff, and wire it myself with an aftermarket switch.

Ford part number YL3Z-15200-AAA is a complete foglamp kit for a 01 F150 2WD. The kit includes the lamps, wiring, switch and valance (everything to install it on a truck that doesn't have them already). MSRP $404.46 online price $311.43 plus shipping.

Yea, thats what I thought about doing. I had some fog lights from Wal-Mart awhile back, and when I had my fender-bender, it did something to them, so I still have the wires....and the switch I still have too. I guess I will stick to that.

But as far as the actual fog lights go, is there a significant difference between the Euro clear lense lamps and the OEM "hatched" lamps?? I'd like to match the clear lense style of my L headlights....

the OEM's have what is called a "fluted" lense. that is, the reflector in the back is a single bowl mirror, and the lense has deflectors in it that scatter the light beam. they are very ugly and cast poor light. newer cars now have a smooth "non-fluted" lense with angled reflector mirrors in the back of the lamp to diffuse the light. the euro (non-fluted) would look MUCH better and match as well. just my $.02

I have harley fogs in my STX valence, I ran my own slim toggle switch into the factory harness so i can turn them on with brights on (illegal) and can turn them on without headlights or parking lights on (illegal). Basically whenever i want they can be on

but the could be wired up with your own switch, and still be legal if that bothers you
