Should I paint Roush grill?

Ive been debating on buying a Saleen grill or just painting my Roush grill and monster lower grill. What do you think? If I decide to paint, what kind of spray paint should I use and what steps should I take? Also, Does the paint hold up???

THANKS

If you do decide to paint it,u should paint it black to go along with the rest of the truck.

Looks good as is to me, but I'm biased.

You should get a Photoshop to see what it woul dlook like if the upper grill is painted black and the lower grill is painted the greysilver to match the two tone.

If the Roush is plastic, get it painted professionally, if its metal, powerdercoated professionally, black ofcoarse, with a satin finish and minor clear, would look great.

It's chrome over plastic.

It would look great on your truck. I've been too busy, but one day I'll paint my Roush, for now its just black electrical tape, and looks good. I even made my own lower grille to match. See sig.

Hey MPG.....

It looks great as it is..... But I'm sure it would look great painted too. Just depends on what direction you want to go with your styling.

I painted mine "twice"..... The first time it chipped right off :-( So I sanded the whole thing down, and tried again. The second time it came out good, and hasn't chipped at all.

If I were to do it again, I'd spray it will Bulldog first... a product which makes paint stick to almost anything, including chrome, and plastic.

It can't be powder coated, as the plastic under the chrome would melt.

Peace,
Fish

I've got a chrome lariat grill on my truck (same as Roush for all practical purposes) and I've been thinking seriously about painting mine black.

On th back of the fusion paint can it says there is no need to rough-up the surce before painting. Should I go over it with something like 400 grit anyway?

And what kind of black fusion? satin or flat black?

If you do paint it, I'd take off the bumper grille insert.
Other than that, do it!
