Powder coat question ???

i want to get my grill surround ptm

am i better off having it painted

or

can you powder coat plastic ???

its the "chrome" surround

I don't think you can because of having to put the parts in the oven. I don't think the plastic will handle too well in there.

Well IDNC....

not only can plastic not be powder coated (leastwise with the conventional oven cure method) but on top of that, trying to get powder coat to match your paint can be VERY tricky.

PTM for sure...... but even so, you need to know that its hard to make paint stick to plastic also. I'm going to be trying a product called Bulldog, which is available in an aresol spray can, and they claim it makes paint stick to anything, including plastic, chrome, and glass..... But I haven't used it yet, so I'm only going by heresay.
