Nerf Bars or No Nerf Bars...

...that is the question. I did a little poor man's photoshop work (MS Paint) on a pic of my truck, and I wonder what you guys think. I'm thinking about taking off my nerf bars, but I'm not sure if I'd like it better or not. What say you?

Nerf bars:

The reason that I like my nerf bars... Seat wear. If you use the bars to step into your truck, you will not prematurely wear out the outer edge of the seat. Slide in and out without the bars, and you will wear the leather out. I assume it would be the same issue with cloth. Just a suggestion to ponder.

Personally i like the nerf bars on, but i'm also "thinking" of taking them off as well.
It does make the truck look higher with them off so thats a big plus. I'm willing to bet a lot of people will say off.

That's actually the only reason I still have the bars on, and the only reason I got them to start with. However, the side of my seat has still seen a good deal of wear in its 10 years of use, and is wearing away anyway.

My last Lariat with leather wore poorly on my left cheek side of the driver seat. With my KR, I always try and step on the bar while exiting and entering my truck. I guess I will have to wait five more years to see if my new theory is correct. For now, I am going with "better safe than sorry."

To be honest your truck looks equally as good with or without the step bars.

So if you use them keep them. Your truck sits up pretty high so I think if it were mine they would be staying.

The truck looks great with and without nerf bars, but the seat wear comment would make me keep the bars. Just my 2 cents.

It kinda depends on personal taste. I personally like my truck to look like its higher, so i leave mine off. My dad and buddy don't care about hieght, but drive through a lot of cornfields, and nerf bars can prevent those stalks from scratching the truck. Also, depending on your age, you might need help getting in.
