Tint On Windshield! Have A Few Questions!

Ok so I want to tint my windshield.. I want 50% and have heard of a few people using 50% on their windshield... I called around today, no place even has 50% in stock because no one asks for it on their windows, and they said they would need to order a whole roll of 50% just for me and it would be expensive..

The closest to 50% they have is 35%..... Is 35% on a windshield TOO dark??/ I would think so, but im not sure, need your opinions!!!

I put 35% on my work truck and 50% on my F150 at the same time. When it was done I was regreting not going w/ 35% on my personal truck. Its not bad at all. You can forget anyone looking in at you. 50% really isnt even noticeable IMOP.

Perfect! So I should go with 35%??? Is it hard to see at night??

I called and one guy wants me to stop by and set it on to show me what it will look like to see if I want to do 35% and he said about $125?? Does that sound reasonable?

Only set-back is my windshield IS cracked... Should I tint this one or buy a new one and tint that one??

Buy a new one and tint it. Also consider HID headlights, it will make it much easier to see at night.

You can tell its on there at night but its not bad at all!

I had a place tell me $150. But I happened to get hooked up w/ a mobile tint guy. I just got 10 buddies over and he only charged $120 for my whole truck including windshield

My work truck had lots of cracks but i tinted it anyway, mainly b/c it was cheap!

I would get a new windshield then tint the new one. I'm not sure about the state you live in, but in CA cops will pull you over for chipped/cracked windshields. When you get it done post some pics from inside looking out so I can get an idea of how it will look. I want to get it done, but I need to move from Oakdale first.

Got lucky...Wifes 4 door civic was $100 w/ sunstrip. He drove 80 miles, but I had to have at least 8 cars for him to come down. He made over $1000 and was done by 1:30 hmmmm...now that I think about it I should swap careers

I live in Nebraska... I been pulled over 3 times and the cops never said anything about my cracked windshield... Maybe because they didnt care or maybe because they didnt notice it because it was dark out... Either way, no ticket for that yet

Yea but he went through a couple hundred bucks in tint... Probably at most 200 bucks worth of tint... They make good money but tinting is a pain.. Especially on tiny, curved, or weird windows.. They mess up and get agrivated alot! lol.. Yea, you did get lucky, I wish I could get lucky!

Definitely get the windshield replaced first. Depending on what color the interior is in the truck will also effect how dark the tint appears, but 50% usually looks good on the windshield. As far as prices, a lot of it depends on where you are located and what brand film they use. A lot of places use cheap film that will turn purple over time so always ask them before they do it, what brand they use and make sure it has a lifetime warranty. Also, most places will deal a little on the price, to get your business.
