Tinting My Windows, Need Feedback On %

Hey, I have a 2000 f150XLT and the rear windows have the factory tint and I was going to tint them myself, all I have is 20% tint and was wondering can I put 20% over my 2 rear side windows and Rear window and 2 layers of 20% on my front door windows to match the rear? 2 layers should be alright shouldnt it?

I would stick to one layer, especially if you are doing it yourself and not having a shop do it. There is less room for error and with two layers there is a good chance you will get some dirt or dust in between the layers. 20% on the front rollups and 20% over the factory back looks really good.

instead of 2 layers on front. Why not just buy 5%? It comes out almost the same percent! The rear will be fine w/ tint over factory.

I did 5% all the way around on my truck and wished now I would of done 2.5%.

Depending on how dark you want it, I think 2.5% up front and 5% over factory rear tint would do the trick! That's what I'm thinking of doing now.

Im thinking about doing matching 20% tint on the fronts, then doing 20% metallic flake over all of them, the factory rears and the fronts so they all match.. that would be about 2.5%

I did 20% all around and i'm happy. Didn't want to attract the cops, and need to be able to see a night. The factory tint is 18%, so 20% or 15% would be the truck to level it out, and adding 20% over the rear would make it the perfect darkness level thats still visible.

2.5% want be much of a difference from 5%. I have 5 all the way around on mine and 50% on fron windshield, and that seems to work out pretty good. I can still see out of it normal but no one can see me

I'm not sure what percent is on mine but the dealership took it to a local tint shop before I bought it and had the job done. The back window is dark enough that when he tried to put the paper license plate in the back window you couldn't see it from the outside lol.

I have 5% all the way around on mine with an extra layer of 20% on the rear window, and then 35% over the front. It looks pretty damn close all the way around but because the windshield lets in so much light sometimes you can see in the front still.

ive had 20...ive had 5....i now have 2.5% and still want it darker....here is my advice....you might be nervous putting on dark tint becasue you think it will be too dark...its NEVER too dark if you ask me...go dark....i say five all arounda dn youll be happy...thats like 2.5 in back and 5 in front....that should do you fine and if you do it yourself.....make sure there isnt stuff flyin around adn do it in the garage if possible....you will probably get bubbles so dont be distressed....

It is all what you like, but personally I think the metal flake tint looks really cheap and I would stick to regular charcoal film.
