what would you think about this??

i have been comtemplating making my own two tone for my truck. right now i have chrome bumpers and i know its a PITA to get them painted and all so i was thinking i could go to a junk yard and try to find some painted ones and then re-paint those to the color i want. my truck is red and i want to have black bumpers and paint the rocker panels to match as well as get some fender flares and paint those. just want to see what you all think of that and if i should go ahead with it or not

What color is your truck? You should be able to paint the chrome bumpers and save a few $$$.

I was thinking about doing the same with my truck. Mine's red and blacked out. I already have pocket style bushwackers painted flat black on it. Just kinda sitting on the fence with doing or not.

If you do it post some pics.

painting the chrome is gonna suck.

Fish Chris just figured this out!

Other options would be poweder coating and line-xing or rhino lining them.

I honestly love the line-xed bumpers, rocker panal, fender flares

Thats why he was thinking of going to a junkyard nd finding bumpers that were already painted, and repainting to match his truck.

I need to do that as well, i want to get a H.D. Lower valance and want to dump the chrome grille on the front of mine..

**** and GTFO noob

He was offering helpful advice to someone else who posted in THIS thread about painting the damn chrome. He was trying to help him before he makes a mistake. Don't be so quick to make enemies new guy.

Just because he wasn't talking to you, doesn't mean you need to whine. Calm down little man.

Have you looked into things like the Line-X (or is it Rhino) that has the light spray on, with color match ?

It will be tough and take a beating (like bumpers often do) and will last. Just another thought to throw out there. I've thought about doing something like this, along with maybe the rocker panels. Not sure though, would need to see some more pics of it.
