My Saturday project!

Hey guys, I just got done painting my door and tailgate handles. I think it came out good and I whole lot cheaper and easier then buying new ones. See my gallery for the pics. I cannot figure out how to put them directly in my post??

Upload them to a site like imageshack.com or photobucket.com, and add copy the code it gives you here. It should be something like

Couple of questions....
1. Did you sand the texture down so they are smooth or did you just prep and paint them textured?
2. Is that just white paint or color matched?
3. Did you clear over them?
Thanks, they look pretty good to me!

How did you take them off? Or did you not remove to paint?

I did not sand them down, just prep and paint and clear over them. I did not take them off I just masked around them and painted. It is the Krylon Fusion Gloss White paint

Dude, that looks sweet. I can see my next project. lol

I think if your truck was a darker color the textured look would not work. But white wears it well.

Time for white overlays.

Looks good, x2 for white overlays.

I'll be doing the same thing for my 98 come Monday. I'll be removing, sanding, painting (color matching YZ), clear coating, then putting them back on

Overlays are a def...I tried them a couple weeks ago and ruined them the I found out that most peopled with hte NBS had issues with them but suggested the soapy water trick so i am gonna reorder the overlays and try again.

From start to finish including the masking and cleaning took me about 2 hours.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, it really feels good when you do your own work and people think it looks good!!
