Question Is it hard to install these??? Any experience?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-03...ayphotohosting

Thanks for looking and possibly helping. Are these "Full" grill replacements easy to install yourself? On most of the items, it states: professional installation reccomended.

Anybody done it themselves before? If so, what was invloved??

I am leaning towards the "vertical grills" and hope to hear peoples experiences with the install and what is the best quality product.

very easy, all you have to do is ull out the headlights and unscrew the grill surround and replace it with that one. ive removed my grill surround, bumper, headlights, corners many times... its easy.

this is my OPINION so please dont get offended.. i would never put something like that on my truck because i prefer the sporty look.

Thanks for the response! As far as being offended...... not at all my friend. Different strokes for different folks. I like the grill. I also like the Carter 3 album. You probably dont like a lot of the same things as myself. Isnt America beautiful.

But seriously, does the original grill and aftermarket go on pretty easy???

Okay, heres the thing. As mine came, it was the surround and then the insert. From the looks of the picture, it seems to be a 1-peice, correct? Mine, I had to drill and mount the bars onto the opening THEN put on the surround. I ended up trimming the bottom of the vertical support towers because they prevented the surround from fitting properly. If the one you are looking at is a once piece, its a piece of cake. I personally do not like vertical bars, but to each his own

My only note is be sure to start early in the morning, remain calm, and put on some good music. A buddy or two is definately recommended since its so wide. Peace

Yea, I saw the feedback on that one.

I havent decided which vertical grill to get just yet, but I was using that one as an example. I guess the real key here is, it must trully be a "one piece" grill.

Thats what I wanted at first. Be advised, a one piece will be plastic. I wanted a real metal grille, so it would have the true chrome shine to it, and I love it.

Thats a nice grille. I have a vertical grille on my 05 F150. Have you checked www.lmctruck.com for grilles? A buddy of mine is thinking about ordering from there if we cant find a stock honeycomb grille for his 2001 F150.
