Keyed!
Keyed!
Vandals keyed and punctured tires on 20-30 vehicles a couple of weeks ago. They keyed all but the bed and tailgate on mine. Wish I'd caught them in the act.
Anyway, and with the truck in the paint shop, I had them paint a few pieces black: the F150 emblems on the fenders and tailgate and the six tie down delete plates on the bed. The emblems, as you know were chrome/black and the plates were polished aluminum. IMHO I feel the STX models look best with just the body color and black so I've been replacing as much silver/chrome with black as is possible.
The 1st photo shows the before and the 2nd, 3rd & 4th the after. It's hard to make out the tie down delete plates on the 1st photo, but they're bright polished aluminum.

The plates are "Steeda." They were available with an engraved Ford logo or a Steeda logo. Not that it made much difference, but I chose the former.
Raptor, I'm not aware of the inlays you mention. Where can I see them?

Don't know why I inquired about overlays from Patriot. I've purchased some from them. Duh!
Anyway, with mine already painted it's a moot point, but how do their emblem overlays deal with the edges of the emblems? Can see the material actually wrapping around all four sides.
I may speak with Patriot about a red overlay just for the "F 150" on the emblem. That would indeed look good.

Love the truck SanDiego! (I'm a bit biased for a reason though
)
2 questions I have for you:
1.) I was also keyed a few weeks ago from the front fender to the back of the cab... how did the paint shop go about fixing it? Was it an entire repaint or some other method?
2.) How much did it cost to get the hood blacked out like that?

ur truck looks gr8 !!!!
the F150 will look like this

gr8hntr...Are those overlays on your fender/tailgate emblems. That's exactly the look I want.
shaunakadub...I'll find out exactly how the scratches were dealt with and get back at ya. I wrote a check for $1,371.00 which included the key damage, a new mirror/install and the painting of the three emblems and the six tie down delete plates. It's been a while since the hood & grill surround were done, but memory serves it was about $400.00, to include color sanding and buff.
