The lead weights are crimped around the cable to give the fulcrum or whatever you want to call it an extra inch of pull.

When you do it, have something hold the pedal as far UP as it will go. I found an empty bottle of Mothers Back to Black fit under there perfectly on its side.

so you pull the pedal towards you and basically your putting a spacer to it doesn't retract?

Yeah def.

Update on the bumper: I WAS going to do it today, but overcast clouds scared us inside. So instead I pulled off the tailgate handle, sanded it with 400, then 600 then 800 and kept the door handles on the actual doors and did the same process to them. I'm going to have to mask off the whole side of the truck when I shoot them white then CC. I also pulled the bumper off and sanded it down for the paint, and tomorrow morning we are FINALLY GOING TO PAINT ALEX'S BUMPER!!

Can't wait!

Also stopped by AutoZone today and got a big 24 oz. can of Krylon Fusion in Black Gloss and I'm going to shoot my valence gloss black and then CC it with the bumper. Should look bitchin with the whole front end all shiney. As soon as its done I'm going to give it the best wash she's ever had in her life and take pics over and over and over.

Careful with the CC over the Fusion - I remember reading horror stories with putting clear over Fusion. I'm sure someone else with experience can give more details.

I wouldn't. That paint needs to dry for a few days before it can get wet. And then it needs about 90 days before you can wax/polish it.

Here We Go! (56k Warning)

Finally did it! Paint is applied and CC is applied, waiting for the CC to dry so we can add another coat of it. I put the Black Krylon Fusion Gloss on the valence and if someone could quickly chime in with more info, because we WERE about to go CC the Fusion but from what I just heard, I'm going to hold until I can get some further info about CC'ing Fusion. We didn't safely have enough to do the door handles, so I'm going to get Fusion and do them at a later date. Here's the pics:

^^ Door handles all sanded down, ready for their turn ^^

^^ Me giving the primer a bit of a scratch for the paint ^^
